DATA EYES
Noticing that the beginning of the pandemic encouraged many of us to move the majority of our activities into the digital sphere, Lyonnais’ DATA EYES project proposes a rematerialization of our experience of the web through the documentation of a series of folds. These folds are obtained by projecting screenshots of web browsers onto folded paper structures. The folds of these structures make the Internet an angular and modular space, resolutely material: the act of folding functions as a form of resistance to our technological alienation. For each week of the residency, the artist established a theme to explore an aspect of our online lives. Each grouping of images in this exhibition is accompanied by a text written by the artist, reflecting her thoughts on the chosen themes.
